... because SOLUTIONS ARISE FROM INFORMATIONHODAI is a global project consisting of 4 interrelated modules that will contribute to the creation of a “Hub Of Data And Initiatives” (HODAI). They are based on the two pillars of Continuous Improvement and Continuous Communication.
At HODAI foundation we do whatever we can to try to accelerate the resolution of crucial problems. It is OUR AIM.
Our strategy is to improve and consolidate what has already been done, changing it if needed, and making it FREELY AVAILABLE for further improvement. |
1. consolidating information: WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS?
Through module 1 HODAI answers the question:
- What seems important to humanity? We generate a list of important and complex problems emerging from the existing work of NGOs and global public institutions (such as the United Nations and the World Economic Forum), but also from governmental data and the world of information. Since 2016, we publish an up-to-date list of what humanity considers the most important and complex problems, issues, challenges, and risks today. Why we do it? Because we could not find it and we thought it was essential. |
THE RESULT:
THE CRUCIAL LIST
The crucial list is our first step towards a consolidated Hub Of Data And Initiatives (H.O.D.A.I.), available as a common good, under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.

2. finding priorities: COMPARING THE UNCOMPARABLE
Through module 2 HODAI answers the question:
- What are the most crucial problems? Each problem is classified according to a set of defined parameters. The list is ordered according to the impact of each problem. This is determined by the combination of the parameters and the reciprocal impact on all the other problems. Our ambition is to make the most reliable and transparent way of calculating the impact of each problem. To do so we use an algorithm that we update continuously. It is publicly available under GNU LGPLv3, we hope you can contribute to its improvement. |
THE RESULT:
THE HODAI IMPACT INDEX
Thanks to this work we can explore findings such as the top 100 problems, the exponential problems, the short term risks for humans, the interaction between each problem, the relative impact of each problem, and much more.

3. mapping and weighing efforts: FINDING OUT WHAT IS DONE
Through module 3 HODAI answers the questions:
- What are the current efforts? - Where are the actors? We are creating a global inventory and mapping of existing efforts (NGOs, governments, private sector, public institutions) through a global cartography that shows who is working on each problem and where around the world. Please let us know if you know somebody that has already done part of this module. It is a massive tasks and, if possible, we will try to integrate what already exists first, rather than starting from scratch. |
4. forecasting resolution: IMPROVING PREDICTABILITY
Through module 4 HODAI answers the questions:
- What crucial problems are being most addressed? - What crucial problems are not being addressed adequately? - When are we likely to resolve each problem? This module is centered around the analysis of aggregated data and the resolution forecasting for each problem. By integrating modules 1, 2 and 3, it will be possible to see what are the current efforts undertaken for each problem. Through HODAI it will be possible to discover that a critical problem is not sufficiently addressed or, on the contrary, that a less urgent and less critical problem attracts more efforts. Also, through the combination of global inventory of the existing projects and the quantification of existing efforts, HODAI will be able to show estimates about when the problem will be resolved or mitigated. |
NOT EASY, BUT WORTH TO TRY
Nobody has done this before. This a groundbreaking project that uses an empiristic approach based on continuous improvements and open collaboration. All we can do for a better world.
CONTRIBUTING TO A NEW WORLD ECONOMY OF SOLUTIONS
What will the world be like in twenty-five years time? Nobody knows it for sure. We would like it was a place where there are more solutions than problems. We want to MAKE IT HAPPEN.
